Week 111 - Sitting in the Power

BREATHE

I breathe in and am open to all the good life has to offer.

There are times I feel like I can’t say anything else on a Saturday morning because I have said everything.

There are times I feel despondent enough that saying anything will reveal how I truly am.

There are times I am so preoccupied by my life that I can’t see beyond it.

There are times I doubt any words coming out of me will be helpful to me or anyone else.

There are times I question everything.

There are times.

And then I remember times when I am in a zone where the words flow.

And then I remember life is like breathing.

We breathe in for living.

Where we slowly expand our lungs, our hearts and breathe in the wisdom and beauty around us.

Where we expand our breath seeking a calming presence from a higher power.

Where we expand our awareness to help the moment we recognize to last.

Where we expand.

And there is the outbreath where we expend air in frustration.

There is the outbreath where we push out that which we do not want any longer.

There is the outbreath where we are cleansing that which we recognize is no longer needed.

There is the outbreath where we let go of pain, heartache, loneliness and indecision.

There is the outbreath of fear.

There is the outbreath of release.

Up here in my bird’s eye view, I see a cycle.

A cycle of life in my human body.

A cycle of life in all of nature.

A cycle of life in the seasons.

A cycle of life in the sun rising and setting.

A cycle of life in birthing and dying.

And as I stay steady with my inbreath and outbreath, I recognize  spaces in between.

When I breathe in, I breathe in for four beats.

I hold for four beats.

I breathe out for six beats.

I hold for four beats.

This holding space holds a presence of who I am, suspended in time, space and action, into a space held in trust, leaning into the warmth of the sun on a beautiful bright day, with comforting smells, amazing calmness and a knowing all that is.

This holding space becomes part of my awareness.

I claim it as a wisdom that resides in me.

I claim it as a calming presence.

I claim it as a comfort I am in touch with.

I find it again and again.

Breathing in, holding, breathing out, holding.

Breath is life. Holding is Truth.
