Week 85 - Sitting in the Power

Care, Comfort and Community

Dignity is a state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect. Every living breathing being has the inherent right to have dignity. However, so many people have lost their inherent dignity, allowing their inner pain and self-judgment be the credo for how they feel about themselves and how they live their outside life.

Judgment, competition, greed and fear make living in this world harsh and painful. These fundamental aspects of negativity become the focus people are entrenched in and the lens that people view when living their lives. This type of energy is palpable.

As a human, I have a choice no matter how big or small, of the view through my lens into the life I live. I can view through fear or I can view through gratitude and love. Habits are hard to break when I don’t believe I can change my view.

I have two feet. I have two eyes. I have two hands. I have two sides. I have a front and back. I have choices no matter how big or small. Finding a speck of gratitude can lead to pain relief. Finding a moment of support can help my breath. Finding beauty in nature can uplift my heart.

Life is a journey of small journeys. I continue to learn to put down the baggage I have carried from my childhood into adulthood. My baggage is heavy but is not something that helps me now. This baggage just burdens me.

I spent the weekend surrounded by Mediums exploring and experiencing existence in both worlds. My focus this weekend was to be present, be honest with myself and be an open window where I let out my light amongst so many others shining their light as well.

There is so much heartache and struggle in this world, and at the same time there is so much good happening. The majority of people search for the good but focus on fear.  Focusing on the good is like a muscle that gets stronger as we practice. Otherwise, it is so easy to fall into the collective unconscious fear that is around us.

Part of my journey is to find the nuggets of good amongst the darkness of fear.  The good is out there. Fear is a human-made emotion that does not exist beyond the human dimension. Fear is noisy and demanding.

Spending even a moment in loving something beautiful, breathing in something wonderful or comforting yourself with something yummy invokes good. Honoring gratitude in challenges becomes a treasure hunt for the light.  Care, comfort and community.

Find five minutes every day to remember your choice to find gratitude, beauty or comfort. Make a reminder note for yourself. Connect the new behavior onto a chore you do every day like brushing your teeth or combing your hair.  Your inner awareness is so hungry for your care. Take a moment because you are worth the effort.

Care, Comfort and Community.
